I've been so busy lately.. And so tired.. I need like a week of sleep..
I haven't been doing much photography lately but I still have some older stuff to submit..

I wasn't around for a long time, actually I came by from time to time but that was just to do the urgent maintenance.. I have been to a lot of places and took a lot of pictures, naturally. To be more exact, I spent 11 days in the South-West of Germany, then one day in Strasbourg, France. After that I was in Prague for a week or so and then left again for Greece for three weeks. I did a bunch of sightseeing out there so stay tuned to my "Greece 2006 series"
A couple days after I and plus one more friend of ours went to Budapest for 4 days. We were "lucky" to experience two of the most interesting events that took place in the city this summer, I think. The first and more pleasant one was Red Bull Air Race redbullairrace.com/ and the second was the big storm news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/526… . When I came home I just sort of prepared myself for the comeback to school..
My submitting has a little delay, I know, so please, hold on.

So long

In 6 hours I am going to leave to Germany and stay there for 12 days. I'll be staying with my grandfather's friend and do some sightseeing, maybe even go to Switzerland or France. Not sure about my access to the net, though.

Prague Photo Marathon

On 20th of May I took part in a cool contest. It is called Prague Photo Marathon. It is a kind of competition that is also held in other European cities. This was the second year of it in Prague.

It looks like this - They give you 12 themes and from this moment you have 6 hours to accomplish 12 photographs ( 1 photograph on each of the themes ) plus the themes must be worked up in the given order. After six hours ( or sooner ) you give over your results.
This years themes were as follows:
Optimism
Friendship
Joy
Passion
Consonance
Calm
Illusion
Love
Nostalgia
Hope
Conflict
Reconciliation
So baaad... Yeah it wasn't easy and I was very surprised when I found myself having them all in 4,5 hours.. The jury didn't seem to like them, though, because I didn't get to the top 30.. 
Well, there were around 400 participants a lot of them proffesional photographers so I knew that my chances were very small... But I am still disappointed with it..
Even more after I've seen the winners' photos - when I realized that I could not say what theme their pictures were, you know, I just think that in some cases they simply pressed the button rather by accident and then hoped that there is at least a little of the theme in the picture. Yeah, this is very subjective, I know, or maybe I am not artistic enough to see it in there. I don't know.. But anyways, you can make your own opinion, the winners' pictures are on the website above and there is definitely a bunch of great photos.
The conclusion is: It was so fun and I really recommend to anybody who runs over an event like this

Just recently I've bought a new camera. I had been thinking about getting it for a long time and then - finally I got enough money to buy a Nikon D50. It's awesome. I really recomend It's just uncomparable to my previous one..
So now - when my gear is pretty good - I hope my results are going to get better, too
Actually there's one more big thing going on in my life right now... My girlfriend broke up with me 2 days ago and so I feel somehow empty.. What helps me not to think about her so much is basketball and photography - glad to have them
